Lilkafest Music and Camping Festival returns for 2009 to Meningie boasting some of the best South Australian talent going round at the minute. Over ten hours of live entertainment including Quiet Child is what fans have to look forward to. Brent Carraill from the band talks about the festival experience.
What is the latest for your band? “We’ve been pretty busy over the last few months playing some interstate shows in Melbourne and Sydney to promote our recently released debut LP, Evening Bell, in addition to playing pretty regularly in and around Adelaide. Currently we’re in the process of recording our second full length album, Thumper, which will be ready for release early next year.”
Are you excited about playing Lilkafest? “Sure, it should be a lot of fun. Its always interesting playing in rural areas and performing in places we haven’t played at before.”
What is the best part of playing a festival like Lilkafest? “Getting out of the city and playing music to people that haven’t seen us play live before.”
How do you plan to celebrate/unwind after your set? “By navigating our way to Lake Albert to go for a late night kayak followed by some early morning bird watching at Parnka Point.”
What does the rest of the year hold for your band? “After Lilkafest we will be focusing most of our energy into finishing off the rest of the new record but will also be going over to Melbourne in early December for few shows to finish off the year.”
