Former Child Stars are holed away in the recording studio working on some new stuff to be previewed at Coopers Alive SA Live Music Showcase. Todd Andrews has a spare five minutes to answer some questions.

What’s the latest goings on for Former Child Stars? “We are in Sydney at the moment recording with Producer Scott Horscroft (Silverchair, The Presets, The Panics). It’s coming along nicely.”

What does it mean for your band to be playing the SA Live Music Showcase? “It means a great night guaranteed. Good bands, good tunes and good crowd.”

Do you approach this special event any differently to a normal gig? “No, not really,” Todd thought. “Maybe a bit more promo… we approach all shows with the aim of playing well and having a good time.”

Is there any extra pressure knowing that industry types might be sussing you out?
“No, we are kind of used to it, and it’s best not to think about that kind of thing if you can help it. And really, there could be “industry types” at any show. You never know who’s there.”

What can punters expect from your set on the night?
“New songs,” Todd revealed. “We are pretty stoked with some new tracks we’ve been writing. It should be a killer set.”

Any surprises? “If we told you that, it wouldn’t be a surprise now would it.”

What are the plans for the band for the remainder of the year? “We are going to put this new recording out in Spring, and follow it up with a lot of shows at home and interstate.”
