An underlying darkness permeates through the music of Brisbane indie rockers wind&brackets. Whether it’s in the lyrics, performance & vocal delivery of lead singer Tommy Ivo, the pounding rhythm section, or the wall of sound guitars and organs, it’s something that has given them a certain substance and pricked up the ears of labels, management, radio and music fans alike.

2007 was a big year for wind&brackets. The band released a two track single ‘Nu Nu (Za Za)’ digitally, which was added to Triple J and played on community radio around the country as well as receiving spins on influential Los Angeles radio stations KCRW and Indie 103.1.

On the live front, wind&brackets headlined a number of shows, toured to Sydney and supported bands such as Art Brut (UK), The Cops, Faker, Damn Arms, PaperScissors, Plug-In City, Sparkadia, Stature::Statue and more.

The five piece have just emerged from the studio after recording their follow up EP with ARIA award winning producer Magoo. The results are amazing, showing a diverse, confident and truly international sound not usually seen in young Australian bands. wind&brackets will road test the new songs with a run of dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in February before the official release slated for April/May 2008.
