The Hovercrafts started life a loose, raucous, slightly scruffy outfit in 2004, playing shows on the back of a successful debut EP and national radio play. Years 2005-2007 were spent doing all the usual things a band does in the afterglow – record debut album, scrap debut album, rerecord debut album, scrap debut album.
In 2008, the Hovercrafts decided to step back, get some perspective, and work on new songs with a new drummer. The result is a more focused, concise sound, with songs screaming out to be sung along to.
First out of the blocks will be “Asleep at the Wheel,” slated for digital release in November, and celebrated with a month of Wednesdays at the Tote.
