Stepping Stone Theory….Tales of addiction, hope & passion you will not be able to put down….Mysterious lads that deliver the goods in the form of huge slabs of hook laden riff based ROCK….Raw in essence and refined in execution.
The front man of Stepping Stone Theory put out the vibe to find like
minded people who are attracted to honest music played with fervour and venom and prone to finding inspiration from late-night past times.
Originating from the rugged south of New Zealand, he was lured by the
underground music scene & bright lights of Sydney town during the early nineties.
Nik likes to choose his words wisely & does not suffer fools lightly. He believes in the human desire to be connected to a like minded
conscience. ”Ultimately it is the ability of music to send a shiver to the
very being of people, as if someone had walked on your grave while you were still in it! To uplift people & bring someone out of themselves
even for a split second, to touch someone in their soul & make them
believe they are more than what they think they know.”.
Alberto Diaz plays bass and is the bands designated tea maker. His tea making skills are so exceptional that bands members have been known to call a rehearsal just to delight their tastebuds from an ‘Al Diaz’ special. Al’s culinary skills are also commendable. “I came back to OZ a year ago and caught up with my old friend Nik… Since I’m a sound engineer and music producer, my idea was to produce his music… but somewhere along the way I fell in love with the tunes and, because I used to play bass a few years ago, I told him that we should form a band, that I would be the bass man!” Al is fond of calling everyone ‘babe’ and signing off all email correspondence with ‘big kisses’.
From the salubrious confines of Newtown, SST’s Jason has been smashing and destroying drumkits around the globe since the mid 90’s while holding together a radio announcing career until last year when inadvertently cut short last year by a Casey Donavan joke that went horribly wrong on air. Jason laments, “well, you don’t have to be the brightest crayon in the pack to know what I said about the poor girl. When your arse is the size of a small country, questions must be asked.”
It was not long after his sacking, that Jason first met Nik in an Erskinville pub late 2006. I liked the songs and the fact that he wanted to meet up for a beer rather than a coffee shop. I don’t do coffee shops. What is it with Sydney and coffee?? It’s 30 degrees outside and people want to drink coffee!!! Crikey. Have a beer. It’s COLD. And it’s an investment in character.”

Seems like the band owners have been pretty boring here, you should get in contact with them and find out why it's empty!
