Silent Motive is a young and upcoming original band consisting of Ben Speight on vocals/guitar, Daniel Sergiacomi on bass guitar and Scott Thompson on drums.
The three lads, all hailing from Bundaberg left the home of Australia’s finest rum in 2007 to pursue their studies in Brisbane. Speighty and Serg, being childhood friends spent the best part of their teenage years playing together in different bands searching for the right sound. As fate would have it, they joined with drummer Scotty Thompson in the early part of 2007 when they moved down to Brisbane. Finally, the boys had found the missing piece of the puzzle.
The group spent 2007 finding their sound and writing, to emerge at the beginning of this year as a tight band with a strong set of songs which they themselves have self produced and recorded. With some gigs behind them, the boys have proved that they are hot property and are eager to take their punchy form of alternative rock to the next step in the brisbane music scene. You may well be seeing more of this band on a much larger scale in the near future.
This band finished 25th in the Public Poll of the 1st round of Tooheys Extra Dry Uncharted, which is an amazing feat given the age of this promising act.
