Sydney five-piece SHAKE (formerly Vulture) have been refining their unique blend of dirty, alt-rock and sophistocated glam punk over the past year while building a growing reputation for consistently delivering high energy live shows that are winning more fans each time they hit the stage.

Lead by the charasmatic and high-octane vocalist, Sam Dillon, SHAKE is well framed at the edges, with rifle-like riffing from guitarists, Lee Edwards and Dan Pritchard, ably supported by the boom and bash sonic feast of bassist Amanda Pross and hard hitting Tim Barnhill on drums.

In early 2006 the band was spotted by Lamar Lowder (Powerman 5000 and founder/drummer/songwritwer/producer of JERK) and impressed with their show offered to start working with the band on their first release, while helping evolve and harness the band’s instinctive, contemporary rock sound. With influences from NIN & White Stripes, local heroes The Vines, added to a rollocking, bluesy, freestylin’ rock ‘n’ roll feel of the Stones and bands of the genre, still resonating with their indelible influence, both then and now, SHAKE intend to make a mark with their signature sound.

Their debut release, due out late in 2007 has already received attention both the localy and internationally by having their first teaser track ‘Shake Take’ released in 2006 on US label Van Demon Records’ complilation CD of ‘rock artists’ and the same track also appears in a promotional surf clip for global giant surf company Quicksilver. Latest kudos for SHAKE came in March 2007, when Jesse ‘the Devil’ Hughes, lead singer of the ‘cool as fuck’ Eagles Of Death Metal, rated their other track, with more hooks than a tackle box, Queen Of The Scene, as his number 1 pick in the Triple J Unearthed. Sam caught up with Jesse while the EODM were in Sydney in March and Jesse was full of praise for the young up & comers.

But all this said don’t just take my word for it ,come check em out live for yourself cause one thing is for sure, when you see and hear them, your gunna wanna SHAKE.
