Trepanning are an original musical entity with elements of taste and continual dynamic balance. We are based in Perth, Western Australia and over the years have grown from a humble thought amoeba into a living, growing beast with alot to say and alot to give to the world. Our sound is raw, organic, minimalistic but thoughtfully complex. Our song writing is personal, conjured and proficient. We exert our creative energy through writing the best possible music, pushing our boundaries so we can perform the best we possibly can. Our desire is to respect and deliver each performance like a privileged artistic experience. We believe in the power of song to carry a message, and the collective power of music to take ourselves and listeners on the same journey.

We have been playing together for over ten years, including time under a previous guise. Then, in the midst of 2007 after a few years without public performance, we reconvened and rediscovered our sound. Perhaps it was life experience that led us all to discover a plethora of new songs within us. We also found as a consequence new life breathed from our old songs. So, we have been rehearsing hard and playing live. The early reports are all good, so we’ve set the controls for the heart of the sun. We hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do creating it.
