About Holed up in a Sydney recording studio with too much caffeine under their collective belts, producer Tim Powles couldn’t resist the urge to ask about the lyrics in one of the tracks the boys were laying down. He was convinced frontman Travis Caudle was singing about little wooden elves walking across the sea. He wasn’t, but the subsequent blurry-eyed, late-night rantings about such a phenomenon wouldn’t go away, and so The Woodenelves were born. With their roots in Perth, Western Australia, The Woodenelves formed in 2004 when frontman Travis Caudle teamed up with lead guitarist Jonathon Tiedtke. By mid 2005, they had begun trekking from Perth to Sydney to record their first album at Spacejunk Production House with Powles, also the drummer of acclaimed Australian band The Church. Music The Woodenelves’ album Trips Between Worlds was launched in May 2007 at Perth’s premier original music venue, The Rosemount Hotel. Since the launch, the band has been gigging heavily, including building a successful Sunday night residency at the Paddington Ale House in Mount Hawthorn. They have been receiving airplay on stations including:
Nova FM network, Australia (via selection through their Unsigned Initiative), CIUTfm Canada, 96fm WA, Coast FM WA, RTRfm WA, 94.5fm WA, 8CCCFM 102.1 Northern Territory, FBI 94.5fm NSW, Twin Cities FM WA, Radio Fremantle WA, KCRfm WA, Radio 2DU NSW, 107.3 LIFE FM Qld, PBS 106.7fm Victoria, Ison Live Radio, Satellite Music Australia,
Rage (video to debut single A Little Bit of Me), The Music Jungle (video to debut single A Little Bit of Me) The band has a publishing agreement with Sydney’s Foghorn Records and a licensing deal with LA’s Undercover Tracks.

A new local release with worldwide scope. These heartfelt songs rise from simple, catchy beginnings until they are soaring, stadium worthy epics. Catchy, heartfelt and engaging, this album is professionally produced and well deserving of a listen. Travis Caudle and Jonathon Tiedtke invite you into their world and if you take the trip, you’ll be surprised where it’ll take you. -78 records
