The Shiny Brights jet-fuelled indie rock creates a grand foundation to highlight the power and timbre of frontman Wolfgang’s vocals. Try imagining TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Arctic Monkey’s Alex Turner, Elvis and some wet gravel and you might get a feel for it. The bands less is more song construction, pop sensibility and musicianship is just as critical to their accessible sound. Not to mention their incredible hands-in-the-air live shows that are packed with the boundless energy this fivesome bring to the stage.
Having formed in early 2008, The Shiny Brights have already shared the stage with such amazing acts as The Wombats, Apollo Heights, The Vines, Wolf & Cub, The John Steel Singers as well as earning slots on the CMJ Music Marathon, Big Day Out, Parklife, Fuse, Southbound & Adelaide International Guitar Festivals.
2008 has sparked the release of their debut EP ‘Let’s Not And Say We Did’ which is now available online and at gigs and due to its shiny, silver-foiled cover can be used for an array of intriguing activities such as distracting planes. They’re just putting the finishing touches on new material which will be released in 2009 but which can be experienced first at a gig near you.
