The Rocks Affair is a four-piece original rock band based in Brisbane, Australia. Originally from Central Queensland, the quartet got its fix for performing 7 years ago forming in a school playground over a shared love of rock and roll. Things developed from here and the guys, performed hundreds of shows as the band Alfanoki supporting everyone from The Whitlams to Machine Gun Fellatio to Jimmy Barnes and were state finalists for consecutive years in the Jim Beam National Campus Bands competition. In 2004 they were awarded the producers award at the nationally recognized MusicOz competition with the irresistible tune “Waiting”. This snagged the ear of visiting US rock engineer and producer Roger Sommers (No Doubt, Metallica) who offered to work with them. The band re-located to Brisbane to take advantage of the offer. The result of the union is the EP “Shadow Skins”, now alive and kicking after receiving airplay from Triple J radio and the music clip for the single “Dancer” also being played on Rage TV.
