Hello, we are the hopes, we could give a bulls$%t bio about how awesome we are and how we have the sound of generation x or how we are the next big thing, but instead we thought we’d branch away from the norm and give you the truth…

We are a pop, pop/rock band with influences such as the Go-betweens and Even. We right songs basically about the relationships we’ve been in and we unashamedly wear our hearts on our sleeves.

This EP was released in November 2005 and our sound is more acoustically driven now, but still has the rock pop sound.

We have played at Rics, The Zoo, The Rev, The Troubadour and toured Melbourne and Tasmania in 2004.

Three interesting facts about the hopes

1.Our single “Back in Style” was spun by Triple J a whole once!, which is better than none we guess.
2.Our career highlight to date was opening for Sarah Blasko last April in front of a sell-out 500 punter crowd at the REV.
3.The Grates song Trampoline is about our singers bed
4.Our drummer was a POW extra in a war movie shot at Movie World

We are contactable on 0422096548 (Ed) or mail@the-hopes.com

these kids sure know how to burst some ear drums. they throw a musical tantrum every time they're on stage. when i go to an OMF! gig i wear a helmet so my head doesn't explode. they're very good.
