Having refined their delectable craft in the years since the infamous inception of 2005, Sargent Sapphire’s catchy melodic sound calls upon a veritable arsenal of musical disciplines; ranging from the pulverising onslaught of heavy metal, to the soothing euphoria of pop, to the tightly timed grooves of funk rock.

Formed by former high school misfits James Fox and Filip Molitor (on vocals and guitar respectively) they were soon joined by Rob Jones on bass. Having finally acquired a regular drummer in early 2006 and having recently completed a four track self-titled demo CD, Sargent Sapphire began performing live in July, 2006 and has since played over thirty shows at approximately a dozen different venues around Sydney. Soon after the completion of their second recording entitled ‘The People Are Revolting’ in mid-2007, drummer Tom Wood decided to leave the band and was soon replaced by Anna Goldstein who helped usher in a new age of prosperity, taking the group to a new and exciting level from which it has been ascending ever since.

Each member of Sargent Sapphire brings his/her own unique style to the foray challenging themselves to the utmost to ensure the best possible results and culminating in a whole which is far greater than the sum of its parts. In early 2008 Sargent Sapphire finished recording their third offering: ‘The Ants Go Marching.’ The compositional maturity and technical superiority of this recording over their past efforts is a clear indication of the incredible progress which has been made and which lies ahead for this dynamic young quartet.
