Four country kids, Chris, Steve, Ben, and Celeste, squished themselves into a boxy apartment in St. Kilda in 2003. They closed the door behind them and spent the next thirteen months taping Rage to devour repeatedly off-air, spending their money on records, and surviving on the leftover shrapnel, which meant their meals usually comprised of pancakes and lemonade scones; it was there that they nurtured the beginnings of their musical affinity.

Since the early months of 2006, they have been working on a growing body of songs, which were recorded during drunken days and nights in Chris and Steve’s Richmond dive’s lounge and bathroom. Their new set includes the explosive "Firehead," whose chorus embraces the auditory shards of Celeste, decked in goggles and gloves, shattering bottles on the bathroom floor.

Chris, Steve, Ben, and Celeste have emerged from the dark confines of empty beer bottles and overflowing ashtrays as Ouch! My Face!, a collective that is causing themselves and others permanent hearing loss in pubs around Melbourne.
