Limousine…Defined by dictionaries as a large, luxurious automobile usually driven by a chauffeur. In this case, the definition reflects a large, luxurious sound driven by burning ambition and exceptional taste in classic equipment.

The beginnings: Just a few guys playing in some of Sydney’s premier venues, like-minded souls continually crossing paths without actually working together. Yes, they were mates first! Col Ganderton, Pete Stanley and Mark Cunningham had known each other for years before realising their attitude and commitment towards being in a band were the same – a straight-talking, focused, “deliver on your promises” approach. In late 2004 they decided to join forces in a new project – Limousine.

During the next year the band played numerous shows allowing them to travel the east coast. It was a fantastic opportunity to road test songs, work on live performance and fine tune material prior to recording.

The band then locked down in a studio in Enmore to record their debut six-track ‘Mirrorball EP’ which is currently being distributed around Australia’s music industry. Feedback on the EP has been very positive and it captures the live feeling so important to the band.

Being played on over 45 radio stations nationwide including 2SER, FBI, 2RRR and a live recording on the “Songwriters Across Australia” program; Limousine were also short listed for Foxtel’s Channel V program which presents young Australian acts on their journey to success. Other press includes the band being featured as “HOT NEW BAND” in HOTPRESS – Australia’s Hottest Music Magazine, on the ZOO WEEKLY Website Viral Chart and in FHM’s promotional video clips. More recently Limousine performed on a pilot episode of “UK Dave – Spreading the Luuurve Down Under” for TV S and SBS to be broadcast early next year. Moreover, two of the bands tracks, ‘Mirrorball’ and ‘All I Can Be’, are currently featured in the new series of “Fat Pizza”, a comedy show on SBS.

After some comings and goings, the Limousine line up was solidified in late 2006, with the addition of Rueben Sakey, an experienced and dexterous drummer. This brought a new energy and focus, driving the band forward with a tighter, tougher sound.

2007 has seen Limousine road test the new line up and material, embarking on a successful Tasmanian tour and numerous Sydney shows, to promote their CD and merchandise, put on some great rock ’n’ roll shows, win over crowds and meet people that are looking for a great time.

The band is currently wrapping up production for an album.

Limousine’s straight ahead raw vintage rock sound focuses on quality songs and melody lines, set to hook punters across the country. It’s happening already! Combining great passion with an in-your-face live show that excites and involves audiences has allowed the band to perform over 100 live shows across Sydney and beyond including a show for Triple J and some music festivals. The band is a tight live outfit that always gets asked back.

So, if you’re into vintage rock ‘n’ roll stick out your thumb and HITCH A RIDE!
