The rapid rise of Australian music sensation Jetty Road has been truly remarkable.
Debuting in 2005, Jetty Road made an immediate impact within the Australian music industry with industry figures predicting their “meteoric rise” is set to continue.
Swept up in the whirlwind following the release of their debut single Run To You, Jetty Road’s fresh talent has been embraced by audiences nation wide. Appreciated for their melodic music and pertinent lyrics, Jetty Road oozed enthusiasm, passion and confidence.
Striking twin sisters, Lee and Paula Bowman are fast becoming renowned for their rich soulful harmonies. Perfectly complemented by the outstanding talents of multi-instrumentalists Julian Sammut and Simon Ross, Jetty Road is truly an awesome musical outfit.
Living in Melbourne, though originally raised in country Victoria, Jetty Road’s music is a tapestry of pop and country, with a hint of folk. Imagine The Corrs and Faith Hill with a unique Australian edge. With such an appealing mix the Australian Country Music scene quickly embraced Jetty Road. Deborah Minter (Capital News) declaring Jetty Road “as good as anything that has come out of the US.”
Word spread quickly about their dynamic live performances with audiences flocking to see their shows at Music Festivals both nationally and internationally. The ‘talk’ of Jetty Road increased and soon after they were sought out by Australian country music legend James Blundell for tour support during 2006, and again in 2007 for his Ring Around the Moon tour alongside Travis Collins, Dianna Corcoran and Kirsty Lee Akers.
Following the release of their debut album Full Circle, Jetty Road received extensive Australian radio airplay. Singles Run To You and Heart and Soul quickly rose in to the Australian Top 20 Country Tracks Chart. Due to overwhelming demand, video clips of the songs were also released. The band also featured live on Channel 7’s Sunrise, and Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton.
Adding to this momentum, Run To You successfully secured #1 position on a compilation album released by ABC Records. Heart and Soul also appeared on compilation albums through Shock Records in 2006.
In recognition of their exceptional performance and song-writing ability, Jetty Road was thrilled to receive their second consecutive TIARA award nomination at the highly acclaimed Tamworth Country Music Festival for Best Country Group for 2007. The band also received further nominations for Best New Talent and Best Country Group at the Victorian & National Country Music Awards.
Dirt Roads ~ City Lights is their highly anticipated second album. Released in early 2007, Jetty Road has produced an exceptional album. Dirt Roads ~ City Lights has already produced its first hit with their single Real Smooth Cowboy climbing to #12 on the Australian Country Tracks Chart. Drawing on a range of musical influences, the band retains a seamless quality that depicts the essence of Jetty Road.
