Forming in late 2007 after a chance meeting at the pub, JD&Folk are a promising new Sydney band playing on the local pub scene. After playing their debut gig to an eager crowd at the Cat and Fiddle they have gone on to win audiences over at various venues including The Unity Hall, Taylor Square Hotel, and the Lansdowne.
The virtuosic guitar and poignant lyrics of John Dixon are superbly
backed by a trio of sax, double bass and drums. Far from being your
average pop/rock band, the musicianship of JD&Folk is intricate and
enthralling- Will (drums) and Shannon (bass) change effortlessly
between groove based soul and driving rock riffs. The sax playing of
Loretta Palmiero adds that extra something special, making this an act you’re sure to become a fan of.
Currently the band are recoding a demo and organising a mid-year tour
