Irksome Bliss is a rock band from the Northern Beaches, formed in 2004. In 2006, Irksome Bliss entered and won two competitions – the Warringah Mall Junior Talent Quest (instrumental category) and Northern Composure (Junior Encouragement Award), a competition for bands across Sydney’s north shore. Prizes included studio time and the right to open Youthfest at Dee Why Beach where they played with Kisschasy, After the Fall, Bodyjar and Angelas Dish.
In March 2007, Irksome Bliss again competed in Northern Composure and came away with the judges’ choice award and thousands of dollars in prizes.
In July 2007, Irksome Bliss submitted two songs to the National Youth Week awards for songwriters. The band won the people’s choice for one song and the industry award for the other.
Irksome Bliss enjoys a growing following throughout various venues in Sydney. With music that appeals to a vast range of audiences, they have received rave reviews for their live performances. Now that they have all recently finished school, the band plans to follow their love of music and pursue a career in the music industry.
