We are a 4-piece band of accomplished young lads from Sydney. Defunct Asylum have been together for 2 years and produce the kind of straight edged brick wall rock that is easily digestible and will certainly get your feet stomping.
Our members have plenty of stage time and experience and come from bands that have supported The Butterfly Effect, Karnivool and many more.
Defunct Asylum promote their gigs through Venue Posters, regular quarter page adds in Drum media, regular Fbi advertisements, t-shirts, stickers, myspace advertisments and self promotion through the supporters we have established playing with other bands around Sydney, Canberra, Woolongong, Newcastle, Central Coast and the Blue Mountains. So keep your eyes peeled for the next Defunct gig.
We recorded our 6-track EP in October 2006 with Senior Engineer, Daniel Clinch at Velvet Sound Studios in Sydney. Daniels engineering credits include: The Panics, The Vines, The Screaming Jets, Noiseworks, Skulker, Skunkhour, Bureaux, Sway, Disco Montego, Blue Juice, Delta Goodrem, Souldecision, Baggsmen, The Follow, Insurge, Duncan James, Shannon Noll, Recipe, Velvetine, Lavaland, Guernica, Aneiki, GT, Mis-Teeq (UK), Valanti & The New Christs.The EP was mastered by Steve and Reaktor Studios.
We have a strong 14 song set so take the oppurtunity to check out Defunct Asylum, which will be a fucking fantastic night of beers, music and good times!! Cheers!
