Cross Trigger are a five piece band that was formed in early 2007 from the remains of Brisbane based band Maze, originally established back in 2003.
With an arsenal of material in hand, founding members and core writers Massa Kitamura (Vocals) and John McLennan (Guitarist), eventually acquired the talents of Dale McKay (Lead Guitarist), Justin Coleman (Bass) and Andrew Gordon (Drums), through a series of advertising and auditions, to complete the current band lineup.
Influences are drawn from a variety of sources which include bands such as Nirvana, Silverchair, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, The Butterfly Effect, Filter and Tool.
Cross Trigger’s music can be summed up as heavy, melodic rock with a twist of pop. A combination of grinding guitars, tight drum grooves, harmonious vocals and layered samples that result in a massive wall of sound.
Massa guides the listener on a vocal journey, with a voice that can range from a gentle whisper through to a roaring scream. His unique lyrical phrasing and infectious melodies are truly inspiring and will leave the listener craving more.
Cross Trigger boasts a comradeship that most bands can only dream of.
They are going to tear themselves a niche in the music industry and turn a lot of heads along the way.
