In just over 3 years Armen Firman have gained themselves a reputation as one of the most exciting bands to rise up out of the flooded Melbourne music scene. This reputation has been fuelled by flattering reviews in the media (“Armen Firman might just be one of Melbourne’s best unsung bands” – Beat Magazine, 2008) as well as a tight live performance that has seen them secure supports with the likes of Temper Trap, Bertie Blackman, Sparkadia, Jebediah and British India to name a few.

The band spent the first half of 2008 writing and recording their debut EP with Frank Tetaz (Gotye, Lior). Armen Firman released the first single off the EP, Porch Dweller, in May, which was well received. The song was dubbed single of the week on iTunes Australasia as well as receiving rave reviews in multiple music publications.

In October, Armen Firman released their debut EP, Your Name In My Skin, with distribution through Creative Vibes. Melbourne’s Herald Sun called the EP ‘striking stuff’, while Triple R radio nominated the recording as a Soundscape Feature Release. iTunes Australasia also showed their support, featuring YNIMS as a recommended release.

Looking ahead, Armen Firman have begun recording their second EP which is planned for release in April ’09.

Armen Firman is: Tom Whitty (Vocals/Guitar), James Saunders (Vocals/Bass), Matt Millar (Drums), Sam Whitty (Lead Guitar), Rob Rambaldi (Keys/Piano).
