V Festival wrapped up in Perth on Sunday and not only were the bands showing signs of wear, but the sound guys clearly napped throughout the entire day.
The thinking man's indie band plays Sydney and brings fellow alliteration-appreciators Hot Hot Heat along.
We lived with them through the good times and the bad times. Now Smashing Pumpkins, reformed and revitalised, returned to Festival Hall to show Melbourne they can still rock.

V Festival Gold Coast came around for it's second year at Avica Resort bringing with it mud and delays.. but it did not stop The Smashing Pumpkins and Queens of the Stone Age from rocking the hell out.
The V Festival returns in 2008 with a world-class line-up that included Smashing Pumpkins, Air, Queens of the Stone Age and The Jesus and Mary Chain.

From thousands of entries, Samatha Milford and Maree Anderson were the lucky winners in our V Festival competition. This pair of FasterLouder fans won side-of-stage access for Hot Hot Heat, and even got to meet a rather sweaty Steve Bays.
We all know Queens Of The Stone Age have a scorching live show, but their incendiary stage presence was taken to its literal extreme at a show last week in Hobart. The venue was evacuated after a stage light overheated, spewing out smoke.
