Ahead of its headline slot at the Open Arms Festival this weekend, Grinspoon chats to FL about life as an 'email band'.
If Big Day Out has proved anything it was that diversity is the key to a successful festival, something that the organisers seem to bear in mind with each passing year.
There has been no rest for the song factory that makes up Grinspoon. And now they're back in the studio to self-produce an album that is gonna be more 'them' than ever before.
The story goes that, in true anarchic fashion, Grinspoon's Phil Jamieson snuck off to record the debut long player of his side project band, The Lost Gospel, without the knowledge, or perhaps commercial wrangling, of his manager or record company.
After cruising around Queensland for three weeks with Grinspoon, opening shows for Stereophonics, sneaking through the Big Brother house, running into Jimmy Barnes and filming a video clip, you'd think 67 Special would be on a bit of a comedown now. But things never stop for this band.
With only a couple of days to go until Stonefest, tickets are still available. Here's the full line-up and set times.

Grinspoon have been around for approximately 10 years and show no sign of slowing down. While they've spent the majority of 2005 touring the country with their album Thrills, Kills and Sunday Pills, which recently won them an ARIA for Best Rock Album, they've come up with another gem.
Their first release was merely last year, yet already they have clocked up tours with Dallas Crane, The Black Keys, Grinspoon and Stereophonics. Now Melbourne group 67 Special await the release of their debut album, while the first single from the disc, Walking Away, has recently hit the airwaves.
