The highlight of the show was, of course, the encore. Kisschasy played a song off their old EP and then invited Trial Kennedy on stage for the next song. The guitarist from both bands stood on a platform on the side of the stage and challenged each other with their respective solos.
Lunacy was alive and well at the start of the Easter long weekend as English lads, The Darkness, prepared to take the stage at Luna Park Big Top. Outside a long line snaked all the way from the Box Office, through the fun park grounds and into the shadow of the Harbour Bridge.
The Big Day Out is the Grand Daddy of festivals. And that is where I was heading. Jumping on the train, filled with the full range of BDO participants, everyone from bikini clad 15 years olds to old punks and one Gran, off to the markets at Flemington complaining about the youth of today.
