“Stop taking the p--s!” You gotta give it to these boys from ol’ London Town. While one might think that Enter Shikari is literally taking the piss out of ravers everywhere, many agree that the band is on a winner.
As the opening riff of Testify rang out through the stadium the crowd exploded - Rage Against the Machine hit the stage at the Sydney Big Day Out running.

Enter Shikari were literally jumping off the walls in a very energetic performance, supported by The Amity Affliction who played my fave song - I Heart Throbsy.
Trance fans, nu rave club kids and gnarled metal folk, interspersed with sweaty teens clutching glow-stix, all excitedly moshing in between reaching their hands to the sky as arpeggiated breakdowns ring through the speaker stacks. Sounds fun, yeah?

We love Enter Shikari here at FL - in fact we featured them on one of our podcasts a few months back. So we are particularly pleased that this rave/hardcore act is going to be performing sideshows adjunct to their Big Day Out gigs...
The remainder of this summer's Big Day Out lineup has been announced, with Silverchair, Spoon and UNKLE topping the list of names.

Everyone’s always looking for ‘the next big thing,’ and as far as the punk/hardcore scene goes, this English four piece might well be it. As it stands, these guys will definitely have one of two legacies; they will be remembered for pioneering a ‘trance/hardcore’ movement, or as the band that failed to do so.
