The Killers came off the blocks with Hot Fuss in 2004, which literally blew the world away, selling in excess of 5 1/2 million albums.
And now, their hotly anticipated second album, “Sam’s Town” is literally within reach, with the disc due to hit record stores on September 30.
The album has been recorded at the new Plam Studios in Vegas with venerable British producers Flood (Mark Ellis) and (Alan) Moulder. It marks a reunion for the duo who first came to prominence as the producers of Smashing Pumpkins’ “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness” (1995) and whose many credits have gone on to include U2, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Nine Inch Nails, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and 2004’s “Hot Fuss”.
